Reid Ferguson has been with the Buffalo Bills longer than general manager Brandon Beane and head coach Sean McDermott.
The long snapper is remaining in Buffalo.
Ferguson, the Bills’ longest-tenured player, signed a four-year contract Saturday to keep him with the team through 2028.
Ferguson, 30, joined the Bills as an undrafted free agent out of LSU in 2016. He spent a year on the practice squad before making the 53-man roster as the long snapper in 2017, McDermott’s first season as head coach. Ferguson has played in every game for eight consecutive seasons, 131 straight regular season games.
“On the personal side is a cool feather to have in your cap as the longest-tenured guy that’s been here since the old staff was here,” Ferugson said. “I appreciate coach McDermott and Brandon (Beane) for keeping me around and believing in me and trusting me.”
“We love Buffalo…This is home and has been the past nine years.”
Ferguson was set to become an unrestricted free agent on Wednesday.
He’ll have a new special teams coach with Chris Tabor joining the Bills’ staff after Buffalo fired Matthew Smiley.
Ferguson’s younger brother, Blake Ferguson, also played at LSU, winning a national championship in 2020, and is the long snapper for the Miami Dolphins.
