The San Francisco 49ers are looking ahead to the 2025 season after a disappointing year.
After making it to the Super Bowl last season, expectations were ultimately higher than the 49ers could handle as they finished 6-11 this season. Injuries heavily impacted San Francisco’s season, with stars like Christian McCaffrey and Brandon Aiyuk missing significant time.
While appearing on “Pro Football Talk Live” with Mike Florio and Chris Simms, 49ers star tight end George Kittle commented on the team’s window for success and how people shouldn’t count the team out.
“I just feel like, at any moment, you could kick a window wide open,” Kittle said. “That’s how I feel. Sure, you need good players on your team, yeah, but you can find good players anywhere. And when you still have Nick Bosa under contract, Fred Warner under contract, Christian McCaffrey under contract, Trent Williams, there’s still plenty of talent on this roster.”
“I mean, Brandon Aiyuk, yeah, he tore his ACL, but he’ll be back. You see guys bounce back from ACLs all the time. It’s just a long injury. It’s not a serious injury anymore, though. So it’s just like, the talent’s still there. Our coaching staff is still there. We still have all the pieces.”
Even with all of the injuries that San Francisco dealt with this season, the team’s offense still ranked fourth in total yards per game with 376.3 and fourth in passing yards per game with 249.1. With all of their players healthy for the 2025 season, the 49ers will likely look just as dangerous as they have in the past three seasons.
