The 12th overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, which will take place next Thursday, April 24, will come with plenty of intrigue. One key storyline is where Shedeur Sanders will end up, and just as important is who the Dallas Cowboys will select with pick No. 12.

There’s no doubt that the Dallas Cowboys are a team with many needs, particularly on offense – a solid WR2, improvements to the offensive line, and above all, a quality running back. The Cowboys’ ground game last season was one of the worst in the NFL.

The Dallas Cowboys’ rushing attack showed terrible performance. The team totaled 1,705 rushing yards on 429 carries, averaging 4.0 yards per attempt and scoring only 3 rushing touchdowns. One of the franchise’s biggest wishes is to draft Ashton Jeanty from Boise State – but it won’t be easy.

Ashton Jeanty has the Cowboys within his draft range

With just three days until the Draft, Jeanty appeared on #PFTPM, where the Boise State running back talked about his draft ceiling and floor. He said the highest he might go is No. 6 to the Raiders, and the lowest would be No. 12, to the Dallas Cowboys

This opens up the possibility that a team might trade into the top 5 to steal Jeanty from the Raiders. There’s also a slim chance that the Giants could take him at No. 3 to make up for last year’s mistake of letting Saquon Barkley go.

It will be interesting to see if the Dallas Cowboys are willing to sacrifice future draft picks in order to land Ashton Jeanty. The reality is, Jeanty is a superstar, and Jerry Jones’ team is in serious need of filling that position right now.

We’ll find out next Thursday where Jeanty ends up, but sportsbooks currently have him favored to land in Las Vegas and play for the Raiders – in the same division as Patrick Mahomes.
