Sit down, Nikki Glaser — the internet wants its turn
This clip from Awful Announcing pretty well sums up how Tom Brady’s debut as a Fox NFL analyst went, with the Hall of Fame quarterback awkwardly holding out a fist that rules analyst Mike Pereira refuses to bump.

The Athletic summed up Brady’s first day on the job about as kindly as possible, calling him “a man learning the job in real time.” Brady was just okay, providing “perfectly fine commentary but nothing transformative that will educate a viewer on being a smarter football fan.
Unfortunately for Brady, fans on Twitter/X weren’t nearly as diplomatic when describing his performance. Here’s how football fans at large responded to the GOAT’s first game behind the mic:
Tom Brady just said it’s hard to make 10, but really hard to make 20 yards. That’s what $375 million worth of analysis gets you folks

I don’t know how else to say it but Tom Brady does not have a voice that is meant to be heard without seeing his face.

Tom Brady can’t seem to form any sentences that have any sort of normal cadence to them

I don’t want to overreact to week 1 but Tom Brady is the worst announcer in the NFL.

Who regrets their contract more? Browns with Deshaun Watson or Fox with Tom Brady?

10 years, $375-million for Tom Brady in the booth. I get better analysis and energy from my drunk friends.

The good news for Brady? If this broadcasting job doesn’t pan out, there’s likely a job waiting for him in Cleveland.
Tom Brady could walk down from the announcing booth, no stretching, no warmups, no pads and be an upgrade for the Browns at quarterback
