Cowboys’ Brandin Cooks Expected to Play vs. Giants After Injury, Stephen Jones Says

Brandin Cooks is expected to play for the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday after missing the last seven games with a knee injury, Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones said on 105.3 The Fan.

“We’re optimistic that we’ll continue to get guys back. I think Cooks will be a player for us (on Thanksgiving),” said Jones.

His last game was in Week 4 against the New York Giants before he developed a knee infection following arthroscopic surgery.

Prior to his injury, the wide receiver tallied 91 receiving yards on nine catches with one touchdown.

The 31-year-old Oregon State alum returned to practice last week, sparking optimism about his potential return for the Cowboys’ Sunday matchup against the Washington Commanders, according to Geoffrey Arnold of The Oregonian.

However, Cooks’ return was delayed by another week, with a potential return now anticipated for Thursday as he looks to come off injured reserve.
