Tom Brady’s Career-Altering Advice to Patrick Mahomes Revealed

In 2018, Patrick Mahomes made a remarkable debut as a starting quarterback, hinting at his future success, but his season ended when Tom Brady and the New England Patriots bested his Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game. This experience was pivotal for Mahomes, fueling his ambition and leading to a Super Bowl victory the next year. Additionally, Mahomes shared with Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer that Brady offered him career-defining advice that night: “Keep doing what you’re doing.”

Mahomes took the advice to heart, seeing it as significant especially since he had never met Brady before. This counsel has served Mahomes well, as his unique playing style continues to dazzle. Since that defeat, Mahomes has only lost once more in the AFC playoffs and has reached four of the last five Super Bowls, winning three. This season, he is targeting a record the Patriots never achieved under Brady: winning three consecutive Super Bowl titles.

Though still trailing Brady’s total, Mahomes’s trajectory suggests he may yet rival Brady, who is often hailed as the greatest quarterback ever.
