NFL fans have a lot to look forward to this season, that’s for sure. Between the likes of Joe Burrow and Anthony Richardson returning from injury and Tom Brady making his broadcasting debut, the 2024 NFL season promises thrills and spills in its entirety.
Terry Bradshaw speaks on Tom Brady’s Fox contract
Brady’s $375 million deal with Fox has been in the limelight for weeks now with the seven-time Super Bowl champion giving fans a glimpse of his work in the studio during the UFL final last month. While Brady has promised to go all-in with his new job in retirement, one Hall of Fame quarterback gave the Patriots legend some pause with his comments last week.
In an interview with Us Weekly earlier this month, Bradshaw was asked about his thoughts on Brady’s new job. The Steelers legend said:
“I want him to be great, and I think he will be. But we don’t know enough about him. Will we see a different side? Will he be funny? Will he be witty? Will he break the game down properly? I’m pulling for him, because television is not easy. You can’t lie to the camera because it picks it up.”

In an earlier interview with NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Brady was asked for his opinion on how he thinks he will fit in at his new job. When asked if he would possibly pull any punches during the broadcast considering he has been in that position before, Brady said:
“Like Peyton [Manning], I have a very high expectation for how I think the game needs to be played, how it needs to be coached, how it needs to be officiated.
“I want to see the game grow. I want to see the game succeed. I want to see the game better than ever. How can I play a role in impacting that? I can give my opinion and if people want to listen, great. If they don’t, that’s okay. I only have the best intentions for what I’m about to undertake.”
Brady added that fans might even remark that he should ‘tone it down’ over his potentially brutal analysis of players.
“Next year you might say ‘Tom, tone it down man, you’re being a jerk out there, let these guys grow and develop.”
Brady’s first game in the studio will feature the Cleveland Browns hosting the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1 on Sunday, September 8.
