NFL star Davante Adams on why MJ is the GOAT over LeBron and Kobe: “He Randy Moss for me”

Davante Adams believes Michael Jordan is the undisputed GOAT of basketball even if he loves Kobe Bryant and LeBron James.

The NFL and NBA have many connections, which has led to many players in both sports having a strong opinion of the other. When NFL star Davante Adams was growing up in Palo Alto, California, he was a two-sport athlete. He excelled most in football, but he was a decent basketball player in high school, even becoming a two-star recruit.

However, he was a better football player who was getting recruited by multiple schools, eventually choosing Fresno State. Despite his growth in football, Adams has not forgotten his love for basketball. It has led him to have strong opinions on the sport, including the debate about who is the GOAT. Davante has made no qualms about it because Michael Jordan is his undisputed GOAT of basketball.

“This man right here. Bar none. You got your LeBrons. Bron is a different type of dude and I love Kobe, I got the Mamba Mentality on the inside of all my cleats. It’s a piece of all these guys that I really love. He’s Randy Moss for me,” Adams said on Club Shay Shay.

Adams compared Jordan to Moss

As an elite NFL wide receiver, Adams compared MJ to Randy Moss, one of the most popular and accomplished receivers ever. It is a fantastic call-back because Adams looked up to Moss. It was also a good answer for Davante because he also deems Randy as the better WR over Jerry Rice in the GOAT receiver debate.

Rice is the top choice for people, similar to how fans choose LeBron James. That is why it’s a fun debate on either side because they are getting appreciated as they are deemed the top two candidates across each sport.

Propping up Jordan to that level shows Adams’ appreciation for the Chicago Bulls legend. It should not be surprising he chose MJ because it’s almost undeniable at some point when looking back at his career. Of course, LeBron’s accolades could compare to his, but it is difficult to look at Jordan’s resume and not call him at least a top-two candidate in the GOAT debate.

Adams still holds LeBron and Kobe in high regards

While he chose Jordan, Adams knows enough about basketball to show love to the players who came after MJ. Kobe Bryant became the face of the NBA in the 2000s, and then LeBron took over from him.

Davante might not have seen them as better players than Jordan, but that does not diminish his opinion that those players are also superb. Adams is an excellent person to talk to about sports because he always shows people respect and gives them their due credit, just like he spoke about Rice and Moss.

Even if he retired more than 20 years ago, Jordan still has an unbelievable reach. It is challenging to go against him in the GOAT debate, but it will continue to rage on even if Coach Phil Jackson feels MJ cannot be surpassed. Davante Adams is a good one to get in the debates, but LeBron is still playing, so he can shine and prove everyone wrong.
