Dallas Cowboys defender Micah Parsons has already looked ahead to the 2025 NFL season with a direct plea for Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill to join his team
Less than a day after disgruntled Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill hinted he may have just played his last game for the franchise, Dallas Cowboys star edge rusher Micah Parsons jumped on X to do some recruiting.
“[Tyreek Hill] we can be the fastest duo in the league!!! We also don’t have state income taxes!” Parsons tweeted Monday afternoon. Neither Florida nor Texas have state income taxes. Hill has two years remaining on a five-year, $106.5 million extension.
Hill sat out Miami’s final two possessions on Sunday as the team stumbled to a 32-20 road loss to the lowly 5-12 New York Jets. He finished the campaign with 959 yards and six touchdowns, his lowest tallies in over five seasons.
The Dolphins star didn’t mince his words postgame when asked how he felt. “I don’t even know, bruh. This is my first time I haven’t been in the playoffs,” he admitted.
“For me, I just have to do what’s best for me and my family — if that’s here or wherever the case may be. I’m about to open up that door for myself,” he continued. “I’m out, bruh. It was great playing here but at the end of the day, I have to do what’s best for my career.”
The 8-9 Dolphins would have missed the playoffs even with a win – the 9-8 Denver Broncos thrashed a resting Kansas City Chiefs outfit at home to clinch the AFC’s seventh seed.
“It would be unfair for me to match emotion with emotion,” Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said of Hill’s comments “Right after a game when your season ends, when you are fighting for it to extend and with the full belief that you have the ability for that to happen.”
“I’m not going to make a rash judgment on something that, again, it’s a little cloudy in the heat of the moment for multiple reasons,” he continued. “So, I know clarity will be found and you do move forward with conviction as a football team, and I’ll look forward to having conversations with him this week.”
Parsons and the Cowboys aren’t coming off a vintage season either – Dallas fell 23-19 to the Washington Commanders on Sunday, sinking to a 7-10 record after three straight 12-5 campaigns.
Parsons also weighed in on who Dallas should select with the 12th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft after one fan hinted the franchise should take Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty. He admitted his interest in Georgia linebacker Jalon Walker, citing how he’d fit with him, 2024 third-round pick Marist Liufau, and DeMarvion Overshown.
“Not gonna lie, Marist, DMo, Walker, and myself as chess pieces, I’d how offensive coordinators would be able to scheme 4 rushing defenders with the capability to drop anywhere!” Parsons tweeted.
