Bradley Beal, who has a no-trade clause, appears to have made a major decision regarding any possible move to the Miami Heat.
Jimmy Butler does not have a long-term future with the Miami Heat. That has become very clear over the past few weeks.
It now seems very likely that the Heat would have to find a trade route for Butler before the deadline. Of course, it won’t be easy saying goodbye to a player who has guided the organization to two NBA Finals, exceeding all expectations in the process.
On the other hand, the Heat have been linked with a few high-profile names as well. One of them is Bradley Beal.
Beal, once one of the most prolific scorers in the league, has found it tough since moving to the Phoenix Suns. This season, he is averaging 17.8 points per game.
That is a far cry from some years back when he averaged more than 30 points per game in back-to-back seasons while with the Washington Wizards.
It is worth pointing out though that he is teaming up with Kevin Durant and Devin Booker in Phoenix. Perhaps Beal could rediscover his scoring touch once again if he is the primary, or secondary, option on another team.
Interestingly, it looks like the Miami Heat are one of the teams Beal might be ready to waive his no-trade clause for.
According to John Gambadoro on X: “As for Beal the no-trade looms large. He could have went to Milwaukee before he ended up in Phoenix but that was turned down. Have heard he would waive no trade for LA, Miami, Denver but I do believe there are a few others that he could ultimately decide work for him.”
If Butler does end up leaving Miami, Heat fans will expect a new face of the franchise to be brought in. Beal won’t be that level of signing, especially seeing how things have gone for him in Phoenix.
Also, with Tyler Herro blossoming as a scorer this season and averaging 23.8 points per game right now, one has to wonder whether this is the right time for the Heat to consider bringing in someone like Beal.
