Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs is making the rounds on radio programs in New Orleans during Super Bowl week, and the topic of reuniting with former teammate — and former Packers standout receiver — Davante Adams has come up once or twice.

“He’s a great leader,” Jacobs said of Adams on the “Up and Adams” show hosted by Kay Adams. “I may have only seen him drop two passes at practice the whole year. He’s one of those guys who puts the work in. He’s going to lead the younger guys the right way. He’s going to give you nuggets that you can’t really coach. The way that he sees the game is just different.”

Adams, a five-time Pro Bowler with the Packers during his tenure from 2014 to 2021, played two years with Jacobs on the Las Vegas Raiders. Adams has moved on to the New York Jets, and the Packers signed Jacobs before the 2024 season.

Adams, who just turned 32, might be a complicated fit financially, something Jacobs acknowledged, “but I do think we have a spot for him.” Jacobs said he’d been in touch with his former teammate.

Social media: Josh Jacobs’ surprising comments on the Packers wide receivers during Super Bowl week catches fans’ attention

“We’ve got a pretty young group of receivers,” he told Milwaukee radio station The Game. “All can be really, really, really special, but I think, personally, we need a guy that’s proven to be a No. 1 already. Somebody that we know is going to be a little more consistent.”

Current Packers receiver Dontayvion Wicks seems to mostly be taking the proclamation that Green Bay lacks a true No. 1 receiver in stride, offering a bevy of laughing/crying emoji faces and a thumbs down on social media.
