Josh Allen became the first Buffalo Bills quarterback to ever win the NFL MVP award and now the talk about him being the best Buffalo Bills player has started to heat up.
Is #17 the greatest Buffalo Bills ever or would you pick Bruce Smith, Jim Kelly, OJ Simpson, or Jack Kemp?
Each one of the aforementioned players has merit to be named the best Bills player ever and that doesn’t even include Thurman Thomas and Andre Reed.

So who is the best Buffalo Bills ever?
Josh Allen set several amazing feats this past season. According to the Buffalo Bills website, here is a look at what he did:
Set a franchise record for total TDs (262), surpassing Jim Kelly (244). First QB in NFL history to record multiple pass TDs, multiple rush TDs, 350+ passing yards & 60+ rushing yards in the same game (including playoffs) First NFL player all-time with at least two TD passes & two rushing TDs in consecutive games and is the first player all-time with three such games in a season. First player all-time with 3+ pass TDs and 3+ rush TDs in the same game.
On top of that, he has led the Buffalo Bills to an AFC East title 5 straight years but has never won the AFC Championship.
Is he better than Jim Kelly who won four AFC Championships in a row or Jack Kemp who won two AFL championships with the Bills?
What about Thurman Thomas? Thomas also has one NFL MVP, won four straight AFC Championships with the Bills. He is also a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Thomas has 65 career rushing TDS which is tied with Allen, who should increase his total next season.
Of course, there is Bruce Smith who could change a game just by himself on defense. But was he more important to the Bills when he played than Allen is right now?
