49ers could target a wide receiver in the first round
The San Francisco 49ers, after reaching the Super Bowl in the 2023-2024 season, where they fell to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. The 49ers were a complete disappointment last season, not only missing the playoffs but finishing last in the NFC West.

One of the team’s star players, Deebo Samuel, had a terrible season and was subsequently traded to the Washington Commanders during free agency. Additionally, Brandon Aiyuk has struggled with injuries, which could lead the 49ers to surprise everyone by selecting an offensive weapon with their first-round pick.
Thank you for watching
The top wide receiver talent in this draft is Travis Hunter, but with the 49ers holding the 11th overall pick, it’s likely that the current Heisman Trophy winner will already be off the board. However, there are still some intriguing options available in the upcoming draft.
C, Wide Receiver, Texas Longhorns
Golden is one of the most talented receivers in this draft class. At the NFL Combine, he showcased impressive speed, running the 40-yard dash in just 4.29 seconds. In 2024, he had a standout season with the Longhorns, recording 58 receptions for 987 yards and nine total touchdowns.

Golden has been highly rated by experts. Daniel Jeremiah of NFL Network has projected him to be selected by the Dallas Cowboys with the 12th pick. If he’s still available when the 49ers are on the clock, Kyle Shanahan might not pass up the opportunity to give quarterback Brock Purdy a new weapon.
C, Wide Receiver, Arizona
McMillan hasn’t generated as much buzz, but he is a highly talented receiver with outstanding attributes. Over three seasons at the University of Arizona, he set a school record with 3,426 receiving yards.

One of his key strengths is his physicality-similar to Jauan Jennings. He excels at gaining yards after the catch, making his talent undeniable. McMillan could be a solid option for the 49ers in the draft.
