Bills Signing MVP Josh Allen to New Monster Contract Predicted

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen capped his season off with the NFL’s MVP award, and now he could be set for a new contract as well.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen ended his 2024 season with the NFL’s MVP award, putting an exclamation mark on his superb season…and something just as good might be coming down the pipeline.

Allen signed a six-year, $258 million deal in 2021 and now earns an average salary of “just” $43 million a year, which puts him 14th in the NFL.

For ESPN’s Dan Graziano, that could be changing soon.

“Newly minted MVP Josh Allen could be looking for a new contract soon, as he’s scheduled to average about $32 million per season over the remaining years on his current deal and earned just $14.5 million in 2024,” Graziano writes. “The problem is there are four years remaining on the deal, and teams don’t generally like to do extensions that early.

“Still, much like Mahomes has done with the Chiefs a couple of times since signing his massive extension in 2020, there are ways the Bills could adjust the deal to bring Allen more in line with the QB market. I wouldn’t be surprised to hear news of a new Allen contract this offseason.”

There is no doubt that Allen deserves to be paid more than the 14th quarterback in football. With Justin Herbert, Kirk Cousins, Kyler Murray, Deshaun Watson, Trevor Lawrence, and Tua Tagovailoa all getting paid more, Allen should be far higher up on the list. … maybe even with a monster-sized deal.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott tops the list at $60 million APY, so Allen might be wanting around the same.

And having an MVP in his back pocket will push his case for a new deal even harder.
