Differences should not be a reason for anyone to be the target of any kind of rejection. However, for some people, different or strange is not always well regarded and they tend to distance themselves from any creature or situation that takes them out of their comfort zone.
When it comes to differences, the kitten in this story knows all about it.
This is something completely absurd for many, and among them must include 29-year-old Evgenii Petrov, who decided to become the owner of the weird-eyed white cat whom no one wanted to adopt because of his unique appearance.
Scottish Fold Joseph, as he has been named by Evgenii, was looking for a home after his mommy’s owner refused to keep him. Αpparently, finding someone to love him wasn’t easy either because of his different eyes, a situation Evgenii simply doesn’t understand.
This cuddly furry little guy just wanted a little love.
For the resident of St. Petersburg, Russia, it was inconceivable that the caretaker would have trouble finding the kitten a home, but if others didn’t want him, he was willing to do it.
“When I saw his picture, I didn’t believe he was real, and I also didn’t believe he hadn’t been adopted in five months. I called and was happy when I heard that the photo was real, and a day later Joseph was home,” Petrov revealed.
The curious Joseph went through a lot of rejection before he found his new owner.
Joseph’s curious little eyes, which some people disliked so much, eventually won Evgenii’s heart. Now he knows that far from being a medical complication, it is simply a condition that makes him a unique kitten.
Evgenii fell in love with the cat when he saw the picture online.
This feline suffers from an eye condition called heterochromia but despite being very strange it does not mean any complications for his health.
“Heterochromia is a rare condition, especially in Scottish Fold cats. However, the cat still has sharp eyesight, it just looks different,” Evgenii said.
Scottish Folds are a breed of domestic cat with quite particular little ears, due to a natural dominant genetic mutation that affects the cartilage throughout the body and causes the ears to fold.
Αlthough these felines are quite particular physically, they are very docile and intelligent, a quality that Evgenii highlights about his beautiful Joseph. The Russian considers him to be simply “stunning with his beautiful eyes”.
The truth is that this smitten owner is absolutely right, because this kitten is a real sweetheart. It is unfortunate to know that many people rejected him because of his looks but fortunately he found an equally special and loving friend who will surely give him all the affection and the great life he deserves.
