We’re only 25 years into the century, but Billboard is calling it for Taylor Swift!

Billboard has named the country music icon turned pop superstar the number one Woman Artist of the 21st Century. And even though it’s only 2025, Billboard has the numbers to back it up, writing, “Her 14 No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 tie her for the most among soloists, while she claimed the entire top 14 titles on the Hot 100 dated May 4, 2024, all from her latest LP, ‘The Tortured Poets Department.’ Along the way, while segueing from country to pop, she has cradled 14 Grammy Awards (becoming the first act to win album of the year four times), staged the record-breaking The Eras Tour and advanced artists’ rights by rerecording four of her first six LPs.”
Taylor Swift Also Named No.1 Top Artist of Past 25 Years
Number one Woman Artist of the Century is not the only accolade Billboard is throwing Tay’s way.
Billboard has also named the superstar singer the Number one Top Artist of the 21st Century, at least so far. The media company points out that despite not even hitting the charts until July 2006, Taylor Swift has racked up 14 number one albums on the Billboard 200, which is the most among women all-time. And she’s rung up 12 number one songs on the Hot 100.
Billboard breaks down the artist’s achievements even more, pointing out that on the Hot 100 dated Nov. 5, 2022, Taylor Swift became the first artist to claim each of the chart’s top 10 positions, thanks to songs from her album “Midnights.“
She then doubled down with the release of “The Tortured Poets Department,” which claimed the top 14 spots on the May 4, 2024 survey.
100 Female Artists Make Billboard’s List
Taylor Swift may be at the top of the heap when it comes to Billboard’s list of the Top Women Artists of the 21st Century. But 99 other women also made that list.
Right behind Taylor Swift is Rihanna at number two, with 14 number one songs. Not to mention all eight of the studio albums Rihanna released between 2005 and 2016 reached the top 10 on the Billboard 200, including two No. 1s: 2012’s “Unapologetic” and 2016’s “Anti.”
Queen Bey Beyoncé takes the number three spot, with Billboard writing, “A Beyoncé album was an event. All eight of her standard studio albums, from 2003’s ‘Dangerously in Love’ to ‘Cowboy Carter’ debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The latter also enjoyed a historic dimension by becoming the first set by a Black woman to rule the Top Country Albums chart.”
Rounding out the top 5 are Adele at number four and Katy Perry at number 5. Billboard posted a complete list of all 100 on its Instagram page.
Billboard will host its 2025 “Women in Music Awards” at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles March 29.
