Stefon Diggs Will Sign With the Dallas Cowboys in Free Agency

NFL Free Agency is right around the corner and that means it is time to start looking, and predicting, where some of the top free agents might land. With plenty of wide receiver needy teams, Stefon Diggs will be a top player to look at. The team that will end up signing him is the Dallas Cowboys.

With being traded to the Houston Texans from the Buffalo Bills, he had one year left on his deal. Diggs was putting together a respectable season on the Texans until he suffered a season-ending ACL injury, making things a bit difficult. Diggs is still an impactful receiver, just not necessarily ideal for a young Texans team still in the midst of building a championship foundation. Before the injury had accumulated 496 yards and three touchdowns over 47 receptions.

CJ Stroud Is Not the Franchise Quarterback for the Houston Texans

With Diggs’ ability to still impact an offense, his talents will be suited best for the Cowboys offense.

With the Cowboys they are going to need to add to the offense if they really want to elevate their offense and reach the level they need to if they want to get back to the Super Bowl. They have a talented quarterback in Dak Prescott, who may not be on the level as CJ Stroud and Josh Allen that Diggs is used to, but Prescott is still a top quarterback to interest Diggs enough to sign with the team.

Why The Cowboys Will Hire Kellen Moore As Their Head Coach

The Cowboys will need to make signing Diggs a priority as with Prescott, he will be coming off a season-ending hamstring injury he suffered in Week Nine. Before the injury, the Cowboys had just gone 3-5 with Prescott as the starting quarterback, and he had completed just 64.7% of his passes for 1,978 yards and 11 touchdowns with eight interceptions.

For Prescott to get fully adjusted coming back off the injury, the Cowboys need more receiving talent outside of CeeDee Lamb. Diggs is 31 years old, so he wouldn’t take away from Lamb as the top receiver, and instead his impact would be to help balance things out and be a reliable second option. With signing with Dallas, too, it would give Stefon Diggs the chance to finally play with his brother, Trevon Diggs, making the Cowboys the top destination for him to sign.
