Patrick Mahomes Chiefs Rank With Top-10 Status Due To Big 3

The Kansas City Chiefs offense isn’t the blistering unit we saw early in Patrick Mahomes’ career, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t as lethal.

Over the past couple of seasons, we have seen the Kansas City Chiefs’ offense, led by Patrick Mahomes, shift from the dazzling air-raid style offense that put up points for fun to a more conservative play style that leans on the defense.

With some of Mahomes’ weapons injured last season, as things stand, he’s getting Rashee Rice back and having a healthy Marquise Brown to go with Travis Kelce and Xavier Worthy—that’s quite the quartet.

Looking at who the Chiefs’ offense will go through in 2025, it appears there are two key figureheads – Rice and Kelce.

For Fox Sports’ Ben Arthur, when naming the top offensive trios in football, Mahomes, Rice, and Kelce come in at No. 7.

“Yes, an aging Kelce is not what he was just a few years ago,” Arthur wrote. “But the connection he shares with Mahomes remains lethal. Rice, meanwhile, is one of the NFL’s top young receivers. The 2023 second-round pick led the league with 24 receptions through three weeks last year before suffering a season-ending knee injury. Mahomes’ production was down last year, but his track record suggests that was the product of his supporting cast more than him.”

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce and QB Patrick Mahomes chat before a game.

With Kelce entering what many think will be his last NFL season, there is a thought he won’t be producing as he used to after a down 2024, but he still managed 97 receptions (third among tight ends) and 823 yards (fifth among fellow tight ends).

So he is still productive, and then we add in Rice, who is coming off his knee injury, and we know what kind of player he was prior to getting injured.

We then have Mahomes to bring it all together for a Chiefs offense that will hopefully have its full arsenal of weapons to attack the Super Bowl race with.

Many are doubting the Chiefs’ ability to win it all in 2025, but with a top-10 offensive trio of Mahomes, Kelce, and Rice, doubt them at your peril.
