On Top Of His Amazing Playmaking Ability Buffalo Bills Josh Allen Receives Surprising 2024 PFF Ranking

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen led them to the number two seed this season in the NFL. They lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game and it was a game that many thought Buffalo should have won.

Many people doubted the Bills entering the 2024 season because of how talented the New York Jets and the Miami Dolphins were in the AFC East. However, the Buffalo Bills ran away with the division because of how special Josh Allen was this past season.

Buffalo Bills Josh Allen Was Only Ranked 6th In PFF Top 101 Players For the 2024 Season

Pro Football Focus created a Top 101 players list for the 2024 NFL season. For some strange reason, they listed Allen as only the sixth-best player in the NFL for the 2024 season. Some probably feel like he should be the number-one ranked player for this past season.

He won the MVP Award for the first time this season. Pro Football Focus said:

“Allen earned his first NFL MVP award by ranking third among qualified quarterbacks in PFF grade and leading that group with a 93.6 rushing grade and 43 big-time throws. He is the first quarterback in PFF history to earn a 90.0-plus grade in five straight seasons, surpassing Tom Brady, who did it four times in a row from 2015 to 2018. On top of his amazing playmaking ability, Allen recorded a career-low 2.6% turnover-worthy play rate.”

Allen this past season completed 63.6% of his passes for 3,731 yards, 28 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He also rushed for 531 yards on 102 carries and 12 touchdowns, along with averaging 5.2 yards per carry. Josh Allen was the reason why the Buffalo Bills were good without having a lot of talent at the wide receiver position.

Lamar Jackson Was Ranked 1

Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin grabs a hold of Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson’s leg and sacks him causing a fumble that Bills Von Miller picked up and ran for about 39 yards with during first half action at the Buffalo Bills divisional game against the Baltimore Ravens at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park on Jan. 19, 2025.

There was a reason why the MVP voting was so close this season in the NFL. Many people thought Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson should have been the MVP over Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills and vice versa. It probably would not have been a surprise to see a co-MVP, but it probably would not have happened because of the way the voting process occurred for MVP.

Pro Football Focus listed Lamar Jackson as the number-one player of the year for the 2024 NFL season. Jackson already has won two MVP awards and he won it in 2023. Neither Jackson nor Allen have been to the Super Bowl yet and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been there five times.
