Justin Jefferson Shades Packers’ Alexander: Going to ‘Get My Griddy in His End Zone’

Ahead of the Minnesota Vikings matchup with the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, star wide receiver Justin Jefferson threw shade at cornerback Jaire Alexander.

“He likes to do that stuff to get inside someone’s head,” Jefferson said, per ESPN’s Kevin Seifert. “I’m not really tripping on that. I’m going to just get my Griddy in his end zone. So, I’m not tripping on it at all. I’m excited for the matchup.”

The last time Jefferson and Alexander were on the field together, Alexander did Jefferson’s signature Griddy touchdown dance after forcing an incompletion.

The two have been going back and forth for the past two years. When they met in 2022, Jefferson dominated the first matchup behind 184 receiving yards and two touchdowns before he was shut down later in the year with just 15 receiving yards. The latter matchup was the same one Alexander mocked Jefferson’s signature touchdown dance.

Alexander didn’t play when the Packers and Vikings faced off last year.

The history between Jefferson and Alexander will only add to what should be an exciting matchup. Minnesota comes into Sunday’s game undefeated behind a surprising start to the year for quarterback Sam Darnold. Green Bay is 2-1, but starting quarterback Jordan Love could be back on the field in time for the meeting.

Jefferson has scored in each of the Vikings’ first three games, and he’ll look to add another on Sunday and get back at Alexander with his own Griddy.
