Tom Brady is set to make his comeback to the gridiron, albeit in a broadcaster role. However, his rise means that former No. 1 Fox Sports commentator Greg Olsen is getting booted to the second-string position.
Soon after he retired, the former New England Patriots QB signed a massive $375 million contract with Fox Sports. However, that contract kicks into action from this season. Brady’s massive contract meant he would be getting the primetime slot.
This not only predicted a positional loss for Olsen but also a massive pay cut of $7 million. Tom Brady will be at the helm of things with Olsen’s former broadcast partners.
FOX has officially announced their game broadcast crews for the 2024 NFL season:
1. Kevin Burkhardt, Tom Brady, Erin Andrews, Tom Rinaldi.
2. Joe Davis, Greg Olsen, Pam Oliver.
3. Kenny Albert, Jonathan Vilma, Megan Olivi.
4. Adam Amin, Mark Sanchez, Kristina Pink.

The official announcement hit fans like a brick wall, and they showed their support for Greg Olsen on X (formerly Twitter).
Some fans showed their protest by pointing out the two-time Emmy winner’s skill and camaraderie with Kevin Burkhardt. Meanwhile, Tom Brady is as of now an unproven commodity in the broadcasting arena.

Greg Olsen opens up on demotion due to Tom Brady
In July, Olsen appeared on the ‘SI Media’ podcast and did not shy away from sharing his feelings about the apparent demotion.
Olsen also pointed out that he is excited to work with a new crew and has no hostility toward Brady or the management at Fox Sports.
