Tom Brady’s infamous Netflix roast would have been ‘painful’ for his ex-wife, Gisele Bundchen, simply because she still feels deeply for him, says Millionaire Matchmaker star Patti Stanger.
Former NFL champion Tom, 46, was mercilessly mocked in a live comedy special on the streaming platform last month, with comedians making jibes about the breakdown of his 13-year marriage to Gisele, 43, and her new romance with Joaquim Valente, 34.
While it has already been claimed that the roast put a serious strain on her relationship with the fitness instructor, matchmaker Patti, 63, has expressed her belief that the mom-of-two would have been crushed by the gags about her divorce because Tom is probably still ‘the love of her life.’
Weighing in on the drama, she claimed it is unlikely that Gisele has officially moved on from her ex-husband – especially given that they share two children: Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 11.

Tom’s roast on the streamer was broadcast live on Netflix in May, and saw multiple comedians taking aim at his divorce from Gisele, 43
Speaking to DailyMail.com, Patti, 63, said the fallout from the roast would be ‘very sensitive behind closed doors’
Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com, she said: ‘He shouldn’t have let all that sh*t go down during The Roast because… He shouldn’t have. Giselle’s amazing.
‘She’s awesome, she’s wellness, spirituality. I mean, it’s very painful. He’s a great looking guy with a lot of money and he could throw a rock and get a girl, it’s not that easy for a girl to get a guy.’
Turning her attention to the roast, Patti continued: ‘That’s painful… It’s probably very sensitive behind closed doors.
‘And it wasn’t a joke because she probably hasn’t moved on. I don’t know if she’s still dating the karate instructor, but I’m sure it’s not the love of her life like [Tom] was, they have kids.
‘Even though she’s richer, it’s not about money. It’s harder for [Gisele to move on]. It’s a totally different game. Divorce isn’t fun.’
Gisele was said to have been ‘deeply disappointed’ by the quips made at her expense during the roast – which featured several references to her relationship with Joaquim, whom she has been dating since June 2023.
‘How much would it suck for Tom… omg, just knowing your ex-wife’s new boyfriend could beat your a** while eating hers,’ comedian Nikki Glaser joked during the live broadcast.
Nikki’s other jabs included: ‘Tom, the only thing dumber than you saying “yes” to this roast was when you said, “Hey babe, you should try jiu-jitsu.”‘

She added: ‘You have seven rings… well, eight now that Gisele gave hers back.’
At the time, a source told People that Gisele had been left fuming at the special, claiming the model ‘was deeply disappointed by the disrespectful portrayal of her family.’
‘As always, [Gisele’s] priority is to support her children who were affected by the irresponsible content that was broadcasted,’ the insider said.
Last month Tom said he regretted agreeing to his Netflix roast as his children were ‘affected’ by the gags.
‘I loved when the jokes were about me,’ he told the Pivot podcast. ‘I thought they were so fun.
Gisele was reportedly left disappointed that Tom, 46, failed to defend relentless jabs about her, and even occasionally laughed at the onslaught of jokes
Gisele was married to Tom for 13 years after tying the knot in 2009 – they have two children
‘I didn’t like the way that affected my kids.’
The seven-time Super Bowl champion added that he didn’t carefully think through his decision to take part.
He said: ‘It’s the hardest part about like, the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way and then all of a sudden you realize, “I wouldn’t do that again,” because of the way that affected actually the people that I care about the most in the world.
‘So it makes you in some ways a better parent going through it because sometimes you’re naïve you don’t know or you get a little like, ‘Oh s***!”
Tom also said he learned a ‘good lesson’ due to the quips that were made about his family.
He added: ‘You don’t see the full picture all of the time. It’s a good lesson for me as a parent. I’m going to be a better parent as I go forward because of it.
‘At the same time, I’m happy everyone who was there had a lot of fun.’
Before her relationship with Joaquim, Gisele was married to Tom for 13 years.
The pair met in 2006 and went on to tie the knot during a wedding ceremony that was held in Santa Monica in 2009.
Their son Benjamin, 14, was born that same year, and they welcomed daughter Vivian three years later.
The supermodel also served as a stepmother to the former professional football player’s son John, 16, whom he shares with Bridget Moynahan.
It was revealed that Tom and Gisele had separated in September 2022, and their divorce was finalized the following month.
While fashion model Gisele is still dating Joaquim, it was reported last week that their romance had fizzled due to the stress of Tom’s roast.
However, last Saturday, the couple put on an affectionate display as they went for a stroll together in Seaside, Florida. It marked the first time the duo had been seen together in about two months.
