A fugitive with very distinctive facial tattoos has been caught by police after about a fortnight on the run.

Jaimes Sutton, 24, was arrested in the NSW Murray River region on two outstanding warrants on Wednesday afternoon.

Police say the warrants relate to alleged traffic, property and domestic-related offences.

His manhunt sparked significant attention because of his prominent tattoos, including the word “BEAST” on his forehead.

Sutton appeared to taunt police on social media while on the run, posting a photo to Facebook with his face half-covered.

One woman commented on the photo: “Cops won’t even recognize (sic) ya now bra.”

Police say his arrest followed the public plea for assistance.

Investigators on Wednesday attended a home in Leeton about 2.45pm. Sutton was taken to the local police station and charged.

He is listed for appearance at Griffith Local Court on Thursday.
