San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner and offensive lineman Dominick Puni have both received prestigious honors from the Pro Football Writers of America (PFWA) for the 2024 season. Warner earned a spot on the PFWA All-NFL team for the fourth time in his career (2020, 2022-24), while Puni was named to the All-Rookie team following a standout first season.
Warner, who was also named an AP First-Team All-Pro, delivered another dominant year with 131 tackles, 1.0 sack, seven passes defended, four forced fumbles and two interceptions, including one that he returned for a touchdown. His 131 tackles mark the seventh-consecutive season with 115-or-more tackles, making him one of only two players since 2000 to achieve this feat in their first seven seasons. Warner’s consistency and leadership have solidified his place among the league’s best linebackers.
Meanwhile, Puni’s strong rookie performance earned him a spot on the PFWA All-Rookie team. Drafted in the third round (86th overall), the offensive lineman impressed with his run-blocking ability, finishing 11th overall in that category by Pro Football Focus. Puni’s 80.5 overall PFF grade ranked him in the top tier of first-year players.
