Dak Prescott holds nothing back and addresses the Cowboys’ season-ending struggles, going harder than Jerry Jones: “It sucks”

The quarterback was completely honest with his rating on this season’s performances

It has been a really hard season for Dallas Cowboys players and fans. Their recent painful loss against the Eagles in Week 17 (41-7) means they now sit at 7-9 overall this season. They also lost their previous game against the Eagles in Week 10, 34-6, making the team from Philadelphia a true nemesis for the Cowboys.

Amid this tough moment for the team, one of their symbols, Dak Prescott, wanted to share his thoughts. According to insider Jon Machota, Prescott reflected on Dallas’ disappointing season and stated:

Nobody plans to lose. Nobody plans to have a losing season. You expect playoffs every year. You expect to win this division. It sucks. It’s frustrating.

From Bad to Worse

We must remember that Prescott is going to be sidelined for nearly the rest of the season due to a hamstring avulsion suffered against the Atlanta Falcons in November. He has since been forced to watch his team’s performances dwindle away. He can feel it in his bones.

His teammate, left guard Tyler Smith, also addressed the situation with the media. He said:

It’s extremely hard (to lose this way). But one thing I can definitely say is nobody on our sideline quit-not one person threw in the towel, folded, started pointing fingers, or any of that.”

Thank you for watching

Smith’s words are more motivational and inspiring, whereas Prescott‘s reflect a bit more hopelessness, perhaps because he sees things from a different perspective.

Words of a Captain

Prescott also expressed himself after the Cowboys’ loss against the Texans (34-10) in Week 11, sharing his sadness and frustration about how things have been going this season:

The other day, after the game, I guess it all just hit me. Boom, right. A couple of tears came down. This is going to hurt. It’s going to suck at times. You just have to understand this is one of those moments. I don’t want anything right now other than to let it suck.”

They have just one game against the Washington Commanders left, so it might be time to sit down and think about the goals and objectives for next season as this one is about to be fineshed
