The Dallas Cowboys get Dak Prescott some offensive help in CBS Sports’ latest mock draft.
The offseason for the Dallas Cowboys will be a big one for a host of reasons, with hiring a head coach top of the list.
But when it comes to the draft, Dallas also has an interesting decision to make with so many needs on both sides of the ball, exactly where the franchise goes at No. 12 is unknown.
With both sides of the ball needing significant upgrades at certain positions, one name has consistently been mentioned as a likely pick: Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty.
And in CBS Sports’ latest mock draft, Dak Prescott gets the best running back in the land.
“Unless Dallas hires Deion Sanders as the head coach and drafts Shedeur Sanders, the Cowboys will be bringing back Dak Prescott next season, CBS Sports writes. “When Prescott was at his best, he had a pass-catching running back to take some of the pressure off of him. Ashton Jeanty can serve the same purpose.

Now, CBS’ comments regarding Deion and his son are odd, as we know the Cowboys won’t be moving on from Dak given his monstrous cap hit, and the fact that at No. 12, for the Cowboys to move into a position to draft Sanders, it would require a godfather-like offer.
Plus, Deion hasn’t even had an interview with the Cowboys yet, and it remains to be seen if he will
But with Jeanty, who rushed for a whopping 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns in 2024, he could be the instant upgrade at running back that the Cowboys are crying out for.
Rico Dowdle was a solid option, but if Jeanty is there at 12, will Dallas pick him?
Will it be a BPA (best player available), or will the Cowboys look to draft for position?
If Ashton is there, the Cowboys simply must take him, right?
