49ers and Cowboys could make a big move in free agency

The Dallas Cowboys’ outlook for the upcoming season is not promising, and the franchise needs to take risks to remain competitive in the NFC East, where the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders are projected to have strong campaigns, unlike Dallas.
One of the Cowboys’ biggest needs is their running game, and the team is desperately looking for a star player to bring some spark to their offense in 2025.
The Dallas Cowboys would make a push for Christian McCaffrey
A few weeks ago, the NBA made headlines when the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers pulled off a blockbuster trade, sending Luka Doncic to the California team. A similar scenario could unfold in the NFL.

The Dallas Cowboys could make a shocking move before the upcoming Draft. According to Aaliyan of Sporting News, the Cowboys would send their 76th overall pick and a future third-round selection to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for Christian McCaffrey, shaking up the market.
“The Dallas Cowboys need a major shake-up in their backfield after having one of the worst rushing offenses in the NFL in 2024. They could make a significant trade to acquire a superstar running back.”
During free agency, the Cowboys signed Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders. However, projections for both players in the upcoming season are not optimistic, and Jerry Jones’ team needs a true leader in their rushing attack. Last season, they ranked as the sixth-worst rushing offense in the league.

2024 was a year to forget for the Cowboys and 49ers
Last season, both the Cowboys and 49ers missed the playoffs for the first time since 2020. This was particularly disappointing for San Francisco, who had just come off a Super Bowl appearance but finished last in the NFC West.
One of the biggest reasons for the Cowboys’ struggles last season was their poor rushing attack, which was dreadful. Dallas averaged only 95.7 rushing yards per game-an unacceptable figure for a team aiming to compete on the biggest stage. That’s why pursuing Christian McCaffrey could be a game-changer for the franchise.
