The Lakers drafted Bronny James as the 55th pick to play with alongside stars like Anthony Davis.
The Los Angeles Lakers drafting Bronny James will open up many opportunities for him other than getting to play with his dad. The 19-year-old will be a part of one of the most iconic franchises with some of the best players in the league. One of them is the team’s defensive force, the former champion Anthony Davis.
As Bronny James recently talked media as a Laker, many asked him questions about playing with his dad. But as the guard sat with Spectrum SportsNet, Bronny was asked about playing with a two-way player like Anthony Davis. Bronny seemed thrilled for the opportunity as he praised Davis.
It seems like Bronny is already drawing plays with his teammates. Considering Bronny is a point guard, Davis’ defense will truly help him to dominate offensively. As Bronny is only 6’2, Davis’ size will also be a beneficiary factor for the duo. The former USC guard reflected on all these topics while praising Davis.
“Insane… his presence is what’s important to someone’s offense.”

LeBron James and Davis share a great dynamic on the floor, but the situation would be different for LeBron Jr. The 39-year-old helps Davis offensively while also contributing defensively considering he is a forward. But Bronny would only be able to help offensively as Davis will protect the rim.

Anthony Davis was ‘impressed’ by Bronny James’ pre-draft workout
Back in May, many important celebrities witnessed Bronny in action during his pro day at the Lakers facility. Davis was also one of them as he saw the player throw down dunks and shoot some three-pointers. But it took a long time for James to impress Davis.
As Bronny entered the draft, the player had workouts planned with multiple teams including the Lakers. That’s when Bronny had an impact on Davis, as the 31-year-old started to like the idea of James on the team. ESPN’s David McMenamin revealed a conversation he had with Davis before the team drafted Bronny. Davis stated that he ‘wouldn’t be mad’ if the Lakers chose Bronny as their 55th pick.
“I wouldn’t be mad at the team if we took him if he was still available at [No.] 55.” 📈 @mcten says Anthony Davis told him he was “really impressed” after watching Bronny James work out pre-draft 👀 pic.twitter.com/FvctXbYeuj

Davis was influenced by Bronny’s offensive skills and playmaking abilities. Something that would blend perfectly with Davis’ defense. In conclusion, both players had high praise and expressed a desire to play with each other. It would certainly be exciting to watch the duo play beside one another.
