What Anthony Davis was heard saying to Sacramento Kings fans after Mavericks victory

Anthony Davis let Kings fans hear it after the Mavericks easily beat them in Sacramento.

Davis and the Dallas Mavericks walked into the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento for the play-in tournament matchup between the ninth and tenth seeds and got the job done with consummate ease.

Playing to save their season on Wednesday night, the Mavericks beat the Sacramento Kings 120-106, with Davis contributing 27 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks on the night.

Performing on an away floor is often difficult, and a lot of that has to do with home fans constantly trying to distract and rile up opposition players.

Nothing is as satisfying for NBA stars as shutting up a hostile away crowd. So when Davis did that, he let the Kings faithful hear it with some trash-talk of his own.

Anthony Davis told Kings fans they could leave before the game even ended

AD doesn’t have a reputation as a trash-talker, but some of the issues in Dallas may have him hyped up. Luka Doncic’s trade to the Lakers hasn’t gone over well with the fanbase with GM Nico Harrison receiving heavy criticism.

The Brow has had a point to prove in Dallas since day one, as seen best when Davis corrected the Mavericks about his accolades during his first week.

And with Doncic being a known trash-talker in away stadiums, Davis dropped some elite trash-talk of his own during his first postseason win with the Mavericks.

“They wanna talk s—, let’s talk s—,” the big man was heard saying on the bench towards the end of the game.

He went on to add, “Y’all know y’all lost. Y’all might wanna beat that traffic though.” That’s quite ruthless from AD, considering the game hadn’t finished yet. The former NBA champion was feeling himself.

What’s next for Anthony Davis and the Mavericks?

The Dallas Mavericks have another road play-in game coming on Friday, April 19th, in Memphis. If they can win again, the team will clinch the eighth seed and make it to the playoffs.

Davis has averaged 20.0 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game in his nine regular-season appearances for the Mavericks. He needs to up those numbers if the Mavs are going to achieve anything this postseason.

The power forward has dealt with a lot of ridicule since the trade, like Patrick Beverly disrespecting Davis by calling Doncic a Ferrari while comparing him to a bag of potatoes.

The Oklahoma City Thunder lie in wait if AD can lead the Mavs past the Grizzlies. If the team somehow upsets the NBA’s best this season in the playoffs, he’ll be shutting up a lot more people than just Sacramento Kings fans.
