Buffalo Bills hosting CB with ties to Sean McDermott and Brandon Beane on free agent visit

The Buffalo Bills could be looking to add some depth to their secondary ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.

On Wednesday, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that Buffalo was hosting veteran cornerback James Bradberry on a free-agent visit. Bradberry, 31, was originally drafted by the Carolina Panthers in 2016 when general manager Brandon Beane and head coach Sean McDermott were with the team.

Bradberry played four seasons with the Panthers before joining the New York Giants on a three-year, $43.5 million contract. The cornerback was named to the Pro Bowl in his first season with the Giants, but he would only play for two seasons with New York before joining the Philadelphia Eagles (2022-2024).

Bradberry did not play for the Eagles in 2024 due to an Achilles injury he suffered over the summer. The team released him a post-June 1st designation back in March. Bradberry spent three seasons with the Eagles and started in 33 regular season games with Philadelphia and four postseason games during his tenure with the team. He was named a second-team All-Pro with the Eagles back in 2022.

Buffalo has not done much to address the cornerback position this offseason. Rasul Douglas remains a free agent and the team traded Kaiir Elam, a former first-round pick, to the Dallas Cowboys. The Bills’ only signing at the position was Dane Jackson, a veteran who previously played for Buffalo from 2020-2023.

Adding Bradberry would give Buffalo additional depth at cornerback, but drafting someone early in the 2025 NFL Draft who could start opposite Christian Benford would remain a priority for the Bills.
