More fuel was added to the NFL rumors of Aaron Rodgers surprisingly landing with the Minnesota Vikings this month.
The Vikings are in a difficult position. After a huge season that saw them win 14 games, they now have a massive void on offense. After a breakthrough season under the guidance of head coach Kevin O’Connell, Sam Darnold entered NFL free agency as the best quarterback on the market. And he cashed in with a $100 million deal from the Seattle Seahawks.
Making matters work is backup Daniel Jones is also off the market. He took a multi-year deal and a chance to win the starting job with the Indianapolis Colts. It now leaves 2024 first-round pick JJ McCarthy as the likely starting QB next season.
However, there have been rumblings the Vikes could be a landing spot for Green Bay Packers legend Aaron Rodgers. The Athletic NFL insider Dianna Russini added fuel to that speculation this week.

“Vikings decision-makers are still evaluating their options at quarterback, including the possibility of signing Aaron Rodgers,” Russini wrote in a post on X. “The four-time MVP is intrigued by the idea of playing in Minnesota. For now, it’s a waiting game, sources tell Mike Silver and me.”

Thus far the biggest suitors for the former New York Jets QB are the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Giants. The G-Men seem to be going fairly hard for the 41-year-old after coming up short in a chase for Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford earlier this month.
