Tom Brady could reportedly save the Dallas Cowboys from a daunting situation ahead of 2025 NFL season

The Dallas Cowboys can’t escape the reality of the NFC East: The quarterback quality is skyrocketing.

In January, Jalen Hurts punched his ticket to a second career Super Bowl, which he ended up winning. The quarterback he beat in the NFC Championship Game to get to New Orleans? Offensive Rookie of the Year and Washington Commanders quarterback, Jayden Daniels.

And soon, Matthew Stafford could join the party if the New York Giants trade for him. Reportedly, they’re among the top candidates to make it happen. The idea of Stafford landing with the New York Giants would present a daunting scenario for the Cowboys as the NFC East would have three quarterbacks with Championship Game experience competing against Dak Prescott and the Cowboys.

However, Tom Brady might just come to the rescue. The seven-time Super Bowl champion is trying to win an eighth, only this time as a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. Brady is reportedly finding himself very involved with the team’s decision making and a recent report indicates he’s currently recruiting Stafford.

“Tom Brady recently hosted Rams QB Matthew Stafford at his home in Montana, where they spent time together and went skiing,” FOX Sports insider Jordan Schultz reported. “Brady has been actively trying to convince Stafford to join the Raiders, and discussions are ongoing. Several teams are interested in Stafford if the Rams decide to move him, with Las Vegas believed to be the most aggressive suitor.”

For what it’s worth, Ian Rapoport from NFL Network disputed the report, with Schultz fighting back arguing, “If you really think Tom Brady and Matthew Stafford just happened to run into each other at a ski resort in Montana — of all places — at the exact same time, I’ve got a bridge to sell you.”

To Schultz’s point, it’s difficult to ignore the fact that Stafford and Sean McVay met in Mexico in 2021 in similar fashion. Additionally, he’s a credible insider that’s reported multiple breaking stories in the past ahead of top insiders.

The Rams allowed Stafford to talk to other NFL teams about his value, and insider Dianna Russini recently reported his “exploration of his market value the last few weeks has indeed attracted significant interest from teams, notably the Raiders and the Giants.”

For the Cowboys, Brady recruiting Stafford to Las Vegas would be ideal as it would mean the Giants’ path to finding a quarterback would become much more complicated. With the No. 3 overall pick, the Giants aren’t guaranteed to find a quarterback when they’re on the clock.

Now granted, the Cowboys should be focusing on themselves as they’ve got plenty of problems to address, from a lack of physical therapists to multiple holes on the roster.
