Packers free agent pitch adds Bengals projected $101 million star playmaker

The Green Bay Packers have a solid roster and are coming off a playoff appearance in 2024. However, if there’s one main need the team has this offseason, it’s finding a legitimate No. 1 option at wide receiver.

Jayden Reed, Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, and Dontayvion Wicks have all shown flashes, but none can be considered a true No. 1 option. Reed led all Packers pass-catchers in 2024 with 55 catches for 857 yards.

Fortunately for the Packers, there’s at least one star receiver set to enter free agency in 2025. Cincinnati Bengals wideout Tee Higgins will test the market for the first time in his career and should have a line of teams vying for his services.

In 2024, Higgins caught 73 passes for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns. The big receiver has elite hands, snags jump balls, and makes moves after the catch with the ball in his hands. Even with star Ja’Marr Chase on the same team, Higgins has twice eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark.

In a recent article from TWSN’s Byron Terry, he believes Higgins would be a perfect fit in Green Bay. Terry offered the following analysis regarding Higgins and the Packers:

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins can work wonders as a Packer. In his career with the Bengals thus far, he totaled 330 receptions for 4,595 receiving yards and 34 touchdowns. In 2024 particularly, he caught 73 passes for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns. Even with the great season Jamarr Chase had, Tee was still very productive in the Bengals offense.

Tee is a big body receiver who can go up and get the ball and is difficult to guard in man coverage. People seem to think that the Packers need a WR1 and Tee Higgins can be that. With the addition of Higgins, Jordan Love can be an MVP candidate. Tee is on a 1 year deal worth $21,816,000 and after that he’ll be a free agent. According to outlets like spotrac and others, Higgins’ market value is at 25 mill per year.

The Packers have over 44 million dollars in Cap Space in 2025. If they can make it work, Tee should be in Green Bay.

Spotrac projects Higgins to command a four-year, $101 million deal in free agency. The Packers have historically not made splashy moves like this, but the team did break routine last offseason by adding Josh Jacobs and Xavier McKinney on big deals.

If the Packers think an elite, playmaking receiver is the last piece needed for a Super Bowl run, the team should not balk at this price.

Higgins has caught 330 passes for 4,595 yards and 34 touchdowns in his five-year career and provides the best available free-agent option at the position.
