Tom Brady Didn’t Hesitate When Naming the WNBA’s Best Player

NFL legend Tom Brady knows a thing or two about what greatness looks like. The seven-time Super Bowl winner, who’s now working for Fox as a broadcaster, took to X on Thursday, Sept. 12, to name the WNBA’s best player — and he didn’t pick Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark.

A’ja Wilson has been sensational this season for the defending champion Las Vegas Aces. On the season, Wilson is averaging an impressive 27.3 points (leading the league) per game to go along with averages of 11.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.9 steals, and 2.7 blocks.

Though Clark made a late-season push, the MVP race appears to be wrapped up with Wilson leading the way. On Wednesday, the Aces forward broke the WNBA record for most points scored in a regular season, previously set by Jewell Lloyd in 2023, prompting Brady to give her well-deserved praise.

“There are so many incredible players in the WNBA right now, but there’s only one A’ja Wilson.” Brady said on X.

The Las Vegas Aces (23-13) face the Indiana Fever on Friday night. With just four games remaining, they are currently the 2nd seed in the Eastern Conference and fourth overall.

Wilson’s year has been nothing short of extraordinary. Nearly a year ago, she capped off a WNBA championship with the Aces, followed that up with a gold medal at the Paris Olympics, and is now on track to win her third career MVP award.
