Did Davante Adams Just Reveal That Tom Brady Will Return To The NFL And Play For The Raiders?

Las Vegas Raiders superstar wide receiver Davante Adams dropped an interesting hint about Tom Brady potentially coming out of retirement to play for the AFC West club.

It’s been nearly 18 months since Tom Brady announced his retirement from football, following the most accomplished and decorated career in NFL history. He walked away with seven Super Bowl rings (an NFL record) and every major passing record, including passing yards and passing touchdowns.

Brady’s initial retirement in 2022 lasted just 40 days, so some wondered if TB12 would consider another comeback after calling it quits again in 2023.

At this time, it looks like Tom Brady is indeed committed to retirement from football. The soon-to-be 47-year-old is slated to begin his career as an NFL analyst for the “NFL on FOX” in September.

But during his appearance on Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay” podcast, Davante Adams had some interesting comments that seemingly hint at Brady unretiring again to play for the Raiders

“Tom know how I feel about him. The other part is, I think I’d be the first person that played with Tom and Aaron (Rodgers), so that would be pretty cool. I mean, he getting older, but I mean he gotta still be able to throw it better than, you know, half these dudes in the league.”

Brady showed in his age-45 season that he could still play at a high level, tossing a league-leading 490 completions (a 66.8 completion percentage) for 4,694 yards and 25 touchdowns against only nine interceptions.

But a return to football seems highly unlikely at this point. Brady is 47 in a couple of weeks, and he would need ample time to train himself for a comeback while familiarizing himself with his team’s playbook. With the 2024 regular season less than two months away, it feels like the ship on a second coming-out-of-retirement adventure has ended.

Tom Brady Will Call Cowboys vs. Browns In NFL Analyst Debut

Brady will be working on the No. 1 “NFL on FOX” commentary team alongside Kevin Burkhardt and Erin Andrews. Earlier this offseason, it was announced that those three will be on the call for the Dallas Cowboys-Cleveland Browns Week 1 contest on Sept. 8.
