In Game 2 on Wednesday night, Tyler Herro played a pivotal role in Miami Heat’s victory over the Boston Celtics, sinking six out of the team’s franchise playoff-record 23 3-pointers. Miami’s sharp shooting from long range, including Herro’s 6-for-11 performance, led them to a 111-101 road win, evening the Eastern Conference first-round playoff series.

Herro not only contributed with his scoring prowess, tallying a team-high 24 points, but also showcased his playmaking ability with 14 assists.

With Miami holding an 102-91 lead after Bam Adebayo’s hook shot with 4:12 remaining, Boston struggled to narrow the gap, with the Heat ultimately outscoring them 53-40 in the second half.

Adebayo recorded a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Caleb Martin added 21 points of his own, shooting an impressive 5-for-6 from beyond the arc.



Despite the loss, Jaylen Brown led all scorers with 33 points for Boston, supported by Jayson Tatum’s 28 points. Both Brown and Tatum also contributed eight rebounds each.

In contrast to their performance in Game 1, the Celtics managed only 12 successful 3-pointers out of 32 attempts, a significant drop from their 22-for-49 mark in their previous 114-94 victory.

Miami’s Jaime Jaquez Jr. contributed 14 points, while Nilola Jovic added 11 points, nine rebounds, and six assists to the Heat’s effort.

Kristaps Porzingis of the Celtics struggled from the field, shooting 1-for-9 and finishing with just six points.

Although Miami held a slim 28-27 lead after the first quarter, they found themselves trailing 61-58 at halftime. The Heat connected on 13 3-pointers out of 24 attempts in the opening half.



Miami held a five-point advantage with 2:09 remaining in the second quarter, but the Celtics closed out the half with an 11-3 run. Jaylen Brown spearheaded this surge, scoring all 11 points for Boston, including three consecutive 3-pointers. Neither team managed to establish a lead larger than six points in the first two quarters.

A 15-3 run put the Heat up 82-70 with 3:36 remaining in the third quarter. Miami was on top 85-79 entering the fourth.

Game 3 will be played Saturday in Miami.
