A key piece of Jason Kelce’s Super Bowl LVIII celebration gear has a connection to the Dallas area.

The Eagles center tweeted Friday morning that he intended on returning a Chiefs-themed luchador mask to Dallas eighth grader Elijah Smith. Kelce was seen wearing the mask during a Super Bowl afterparty, which he attended with Taylor and brother Travis Kelce.

The Kelce brothers discussed the origin of the mask on the latest episode of the “New Heights” podcast. Jason Kelce noted that his partying didn’t hit “the next level” until he found the mask.

“There’s something about finding that luchador mask that just transformed the night,” Jason Kelce said. “It really did.”

The elder Kelce brother provided one of the afterparty’s most iconic moments when he danced next to DJ Marshmello. According to NBC 5 [KXAS], Smith and his family requested the six-time All-Pro center return the lucky accessory.

Smith told NBC 5 that he gave the mask to Jason Kelce and took a picture with the NFL star before the partying adventure began. The mask was autographed by Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie after last year’s Super Bowl LVII win over the Eagles.

“The only thing is, Jason if you’re listening, we just need the mask back before the season starts. Because it’s a lucky mask, and so the Chiefs need the luck. I’m sorry we’re not Eagles fans,” Thad Smith, Elijah’s father, told NBC 5.

In his tweet, Jason Kelce said he looks forward to reuniting the luchador mask with its original owner.

“Your mask indeed brings great fortune, I owe you big time, sorry it was commandeered,” Jason Kelce tweeted.
