Man with favourite Nike trainers tattooed on feet says pain was ‘worth it’

A sneaker super fan got a pair of Nike Jordans tattooed on his feet spontaneously. Although the session was ‘painful’, he says it was worth it as he loves the unique ink

A man obsessed with Nike trainers has had his favourite pair tattooed permanently onto his feet in a gruelling eight-hour session that he described as “very painful”.

Blazej Ambrozak, 44, took his love for Jordans to the next level when he decided to have them inked onto his feet by tattoo artist Dean Gunther, and he no longer has to worry about leaving the house without his favourite pair of shoes.

Although the tattooing experience was painful, Blazej, from Rochdale, Greater Manchester, has said he doesn’t regret his “spontaneous decision” one bit – as he loves how unique his inking is.

The HGV driver said: “It was a spontaneous decision to get the trainer tattoo, but I really liked the idea because it is different and not something that you see very often.

“I love all kinds of Nike trainers, but Jordans are my absolute favourites so I decided that this was the pair that I would base my design on.

“It was a very painful experience. The worst part was my toes and my heels, but it was worth the pain as the tattoo looks great.

“Luckily, the recovery wasn’t too bad for me either because my feet didn’t swell too much. I was back at work within three days of having the tattoo.”

Tattoo artist Dean, also 44, specialises in “colour realism” tattoos, and said it took him two hours to draw the Nike trainers onto Blazej’s feet, and another eight hours to tattoo them.

He explained: “He loves his Nike shoes and decided to get them tattooed on permanently. That just shows his commitment. He’s tired of buying new shoes every few months, so now he can wear his Nikes even to bed.

“I thought it was very funny. His wife found it funny too. I think it’s definitely a great icebreaker and he is a grown man, so I guess he can do whatever he wants.

“It was definitely an unusual request. It took me two hours to draw the sneakers on and another eight hours to tattoo both feet in one day. I specialise in colour realism tattoos, and this is something completely different.

“I like to do the odd crazy tattoo.”

Dean has 15 years of tattooing experience, and previously went viral when he tattooed a realistic six-pack onto a man’s stomach to get him “summer ready” without having to hit the gym.

The artist said at the time: “I had seen really bad ones attempted before. Because I specialise in colour realism I wanted to give it a go. I thought it would be funny as hell.

“The client nearly quit one hour into it on the first day but we got there.”
