Attractive Acrylic Nail Designs To Hype Yourself Up This Weekend

Why work so hard if you cannot spend the pennies on yourself? Let’s break some rules this weekend and have your nails done. After all, being a lady means that you need to look pretty and be true to yourself. It is time to head to the salon and have a nail makeover. Acrylic is a trend this year; therefore, it is important to keep up with it.

What Is An Acrylic Nail?

According to Lindy Segal from Harper’s BAZAAR: “Acrylics are a combination of a liquid monomer and a powder polymer that form a paste which is bonded to the natural nail. It’s then given the desired shape, where it hardens in place to add strength, length, and thickness to the nail.”

Since the invention of acrylics, people have been baffled as to whether they should opt for gel nails or this new beauty material. However, Hannah Lee, Sally Hansen nail expert and professional manicurist, stated clearly that: “Acrylics are much stronger than gel, which makes them more durable. If you are looking to extend your nails quite a bit, then you would want acrylics, but if you’re going for more of a natural look, gel is what you’d want.”

Durability Comes At A Price

According to our talented nail artist, acrylics last quite a long time: six to eight weeks. However, if you want your nails to look perfect, you might need a fill every two to three weeks. Lee shared: “Fills are very important because once your nails start to grow is when lifting begins to happen.” Hence, a touchup between the bottom of the nail and the cuticle is very important. It not only helps your nails look prettier, it also strengthens them.

Acrylics, on the other hand, are difficult to remove due to their long-lasting nature. “The removal process can weaken your nails’ natural state, but when done properly it won’t cause any permanent damage, which is why it’s very important to have a professional remove them,” Lee explains. However, if you want to maintain healthy nails, you should let them rest for some time before deciding to get back on the manicure track. “It’s recommended to take a break from getting acrylics around every three to six months to help rejuvenate your nails,” Lee suggests.

Nonetheless, if you know how to take care of your own nails, it will not be a big problem at all. Finally, if you have understood the responsibilities of taking care of acrylic nails, it is time for you to select your desired design.
