At first, the lion tried to show his power to “face” those who were watching. One of the two lions rushed into the middle of the hyenas and scared them for a moment.
However, the hyenas quickly established a siege and overwhelmed them in numbers. Faced with the recklessness of the hyenas, the two lions had to “leave their possessions and run for people”, accepting to leave their prey for the hungry hyenas.
