“I was surprised there are trees here,” Campbell told reporters with a grin. “I’d never been here before, so I always thought this place was closer to Boston, with skyscrapers and a city vibe. When they picked me up from the airport, I was like, ‘Man, there are a lot of trees here.’ I wasn’t expecting that.”
Unlike Boston’s other prominent sports teams, such as the Red Sox, Celtics, or Bruins, which are based in the heart of the city, the Patriots are headquartered in Foxborough, nearly 30 miles southwest of Boston. The area is known for its lush greenery and suburban tranquility, a stark contrast to the urban landscape Campbell had envisioned.
