How many years has New England struggled on offense with receivers who could not get open? How many years did the offense lack explosive playmakers? The list goes on.
That actually might finally change in 2025 with New England’s clear initiative to support Drake Maye and get him some legitimate weapons.
The Patriots went out and got a veteran wideout in Stefon Diggs, who knows what it takes to be a productive No. 1 receiver in this league. They added new tackles with Morgan Moses in free agency and Will Campbell with the No. 4 overall pick.
Friday night marked another win for Maye, offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels and head coach Mike Vrabel. New England added talented running back TreVeyon Henderson and breakaway wide receiver Kyle Williams.
Both players have big-play speed and lit up the field in their college careers with Ohio State and Washington State, respectively. All the flaws of New England’s past misses won’t be found with these players in terms of explosiveness and big-play ability.
