Kyle Juszczyk and George Kittle Re-Sign with 49ers, Solidifying Veteran Leadership

The San Francisco 49ers have secured two cornerstone players, with fullback Kyle Juszczyk and tight end George Kittle officially re-signing with the team. The duo, now the longest-tenured players on the roster, will continue to anchor the 49ers’ offense as they chase championship aspirations in the upcoming season.
The news comes after a playful teaser from 49ers General Manager John Lynch, who tweeted on March 13, 2021: “I’m thirsty. Niners fans, you want some ‘Juice?’” — a clear nod to Juszczyk, whose nickname “Juice” has become synonymous with his hard-nosed blocking and versatility. The tweet, which garnered over 16K engagements (1.1K likes, 2.5K retweets), sparked speculation at the time, but fans can now celebrate its fruition as Juszczyk commits to staying in the Bay Area.
Juszczyk, a seven-time Pro Bowler, has been a critical piece of the 49ers’ run-heavy scheme since joining the team in 2017. His ability to pave lanes for rushers and contribute as a receiver has made him one of the NFL’s most unique weapons. Meanwhile, Kittle — a five-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro — remains the heartbeat of the offense. Known for his explosive playmaking, leadership, and infectious energy, the tight end has racked up over 6,000 receiving yards and 37 touchdowns in his career.
Retaining both players underscores the 49ers’ commitment to continuity and culture. “Kyle and George embody what this organization stands for,” said Lynch. “They’re leaders on and off the field, and their passion elevates everyone around them.”
With Juszczyk and Kittle back in the fold, San Francisco’s offense retains its identity as a physical, multifaceted unit. Their veteran presence will also be invaluable for mentoring younger players, including quarterback Brock Purdy and rising stars like wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.
As the 49ers gear up for another playoff push, the reunion of “Juice” and Kittle ensures that the team’s core remains intact — and that the Faithful have plenty to cheer about in 2024.
