Mixed into all-things Buffalo Bills from the 2025 NFL combine this week was a positive injury update that was lingering from the end of the postseason.
During Buffalo’s AFC championship game loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, a big loss was Christian Benford. The cornerback for the Bills sustained another concussion in the outing and was carted off the field.
Head coach Sean McDermott updated that Benford has cleared the concussion protocol:

Benford is likely going to be Buffalo’s clear No. 1 cornerback next season. Rasul Douglas is a pending free agent, but regardless, Benford outperformed Douglas for much of last season.
Benford, 24, was a sixth-round pick of the team in 2022. This offseason, Pro Football Focus named Benford among their top-101 players from last season. Benford clocked in at No. 67 overall.
In 15 games played, Benford had two interceptions, 10 passes defended, and a sack with 64 tackles including three for loss.
Along with his No. 67 placement, PFF reflected well on Benford in regard to his overall grade in their metrics from last season. Benford earned a 79.3 mark, good for PF’s sixth-best cornerback in the NFL in 2024.
