McCarthy. Hear the full conversation on “Football 301” – and subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube or wherever you listen.

Any kind of like Sam Darnold fan fiction you have in your head, that’s really my question because I’ve been really marinating on this what like would be best for Arnold.

I know his agents probably just going like, cha ching cha ching.

But any thoughts on Sam Darnold, his potential landing spots, or even kind of how the Vikings kind of what they do with Donald next month or two, or year.

Yeah.

Yeah.

We had a We had a good run.

You had a fun season.

It was fun.

Uh, I’m with Jason, yeah, but I don’t know if it’s called JJ McCarthy and there’s me and all that.

I, but.

Can we really do this again?

Like, are we gonna take that, that dice roll again?

Like, like you’re, and it’s like you, you just stand on such flimsy ground and which sounds crazy to say for a team that just spent, uh, well, top 1112 pick on a quarterback last year Mcarthy was a, you know, 10 or 11 pick, um.

I don’t know, man, I, I, I, I, I, I, I know I would be trying to trade him, but I don’t know what’s going on with JJ McCarthy’s, um, health.

I, I, I just don’t think you could do Simba again, especially.

Dude, if there are teams that want Sam Darnold, teams want Sam Darnold, you, you might never get this opportunity again to get picks for him, right, you know, because you, you, you can hears never been higher.

It’s never going to be higher because I look, I, it’s hard to find an ecosystem as good as what the Vikings have to offer even as the offensive line dissipated throughout the season with injuries.

You got Kevin O’Connell.

You got the best wide receiver in football.

You’ve got maybe the best #2 wide receiver in football or up there like in that kind of guys you would love to have as your #2.

Like you go to the Steelers, right?

You got George Pickens.

OK. Like that just sounds like you got an offensive line.

We don’t know if you can run the ball though.

It, it just sounds like a, it sounds like a recipe for disaster.

George Pickens is not Justin Jefferson.

Right.

Whoever is the number 2, Roman Wilson, who got hurt, but he’s like a #3 anyways.

He’s a slot only 3 type and yeah, they don’t have a number 2 and even Pickens is like a low end one.

I mean, to be honest, compared to like what a real number 1 is.

Yeah, so I don’t, I don’t know this whole Sam Darnold thing seems way too risky, uh, on every angle.

It’s so, so risky that the Vikings have to strike while the iron’s hot, but man, like if you’re the Steelers, would you, could you see yourself trading like What, like a low 1st round pick, a high 2nd round pick.

That’s I’d rather go with Fields, man.
