Tom Brady is the best to ever do it on the football field. This does not mean, however, that he’s also the most talented broadcaster out there now that he’s starting his post-NFL career as a Fox Sports commentator.
Just ask Erin Andrews, who herself has been with the network for more than a decade now. In a recent interview with Kyle Odegard of SportsCasting.com, the 46-year-old NFL reporter revealed her honest opinion on how it has been working alongside the GOAT.
Andrews acknowledged that one of the biggest challenges their team is facing right now is having to “integrate” Brady into their Fox Sports family.
“We all make fun of each other, we can all take it, we all throw a punch back,” Andrews said. “It’s a good time.
“… I have a good time with T.B. just because I’ve known him for a while off the field, so I can kind of poke fun at him, throw some jabs, where maybe some of my teammates are trying to go easy on him in the beginning.”
Erin Andrews takes no prisoners — not even if it’s the greatest football player to ever live. As she said, however, the fact that she had a previous working relationship with Brady even before the seven-time Super Bowl champion traded in his helmet for a headset played a role in Andrews’ ability to help Brady in his transition.
“But now we’re all starting to get really comfortable,” she continued. “It’s all about creating the chemistry within the team and building that as we go along.”
Rome wasn’t built in a day, and Tom Brady won’t be a great broadcaster overnight. In fact, the New England Patriots legend has been on the receiving end of some harsh criticism early on in his sportscasting career.
Knowing Brady, however, it would not be a surprise if he is able to master his new craft sooner rather than later — especially since he has teammates like Erin Andrews in his corner.
