The LA Lakers didn’t make major moves this offseason. Their most notable additions, besides their new coaching staff, include the draft picks of Bronny James, LeBron James’ son, and Dalton Knecht, a standout scorer with top-notch shooting abilities.
On Thursday, the Lakers’ social media team shared photos of the rookies working out in the gym, well before the NBA training camps start on Oct. 1.
In these images, Bronny James and Knecht were photographed lifting weights alongside veteran teammates Austin Reaves and Jaxson Hayes.

South Bay Lakers coach expects Bronny James, Dalton Knecht to spend time in G-League
Dane Johnson, the Lakers’ Summer League coach and head coach for the South Bay Lakers, the Lakers’ G-League affiliate, indicated that he expects Bronny James and Dalton Knecht to spend time in the G-League for further development.
ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski previously reported that Bronny is anticipated to spend most of his time in the G-League to aid his growth.
Johnson noted that while he’s unsure of the exact duration Bronny James will spend in the G-League, he is confident that both draftees will be involved there at some point.
Bronny expressed his willingness to play in the G-League, stating:
Johnson said Bronny could enjoy a long career if he builds confidence in addition to his skills.
Bronny has signed a four-year contract with the Lakers worth $7.9 million, including a team option for the fourth season.
