Curry has become the third basketball player to earn half a billion dollars

Stephen Curry has extended his contract with the Golden State Warriors for one year, securing $62.6 million and ensuring his stay with the team until 2027. This extension has earned the 36-year-old player a place in the exclusive club of three players who have amassed over $500 million in NBA contracts throughout their careers.

In NBA history, only Curry, Kevin Durant, and LeBron James have reached this milestone. All three are still active and could further increase their earnings.

With the new contract, Curry’s career earnings since 2009 have surpassed $536 million, making him the second highest-paid player in history.

LeBron James recently crossed the $500 million mark after signing a two-year, $104 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, boosting his total earnings to $583.3 million.

Kevin Durant ranks third but has not yet reached the half-billion mark. Currently, he has earned $399 million, but with the remaining two years on his contract with the Phoenix Suns, he will receive an additional $51.2 million, followed by $54.7 million.
