Tom Brady Says His Teenage Son Is Beating Him at One Sport in Touching Birthday Tribute

Could he be to golf what his dad is to football?

Tom Brady might have seven Super Bowl rings to his name, but it’s his kids that remain his biggest treasures in his life.

On Aug. 22, Brady shared on Instagram a heartfelt birthday tribute to his son Jack, who just turned 17. It’s hard to believe his oldest child is almost all grown up, and with more free time on his hands as a retired NFL star, Brady has been able to spend more time with his kids, as evidenced by some of the photos.

“Happy 17th birthday to the kindest, sweetest, most thoughtful 17-year-old I know,” Brady wrote. “You are truly a blessing in my life and I am so grateful to watch you mature into a young man. Your love of family, friends, school, athletics, hard work, and dedication to everything you put your energy into are just some of your amazing qualities. I love spending every minute with you and I cherish our time together.”

After gushing a bit, Brady went on to detail one thing that gets on his nerves.  “Those are all my favorite things about you. My least favorite is that you can beat me in one-on-one [golf] now,” he said. “I love you always and forever. Happy birthday. [Love], Dad.”

Though Brady’s fame is in football, he’s an avid golf lover and has taken to the fairway many times in his retirement. Still, judging by the photo and video of Jack on the golf course, it’s not surprising that his teenage son bests him at the sport.

It remains to be seen if Jack becomes to the golf world what his dad is to the football world.
