When’s Cowboys’ Trevon Diggs Comeback? CB Reveals Injury Rehab VIDEO

FRISCO – Professional athletes have grown accustomed to extending their brand with offseason workout clips, containing footage of various drills and exercises. But for Dallas Cowboys’ cornerback Trevon Diggs, those posts have an added layer of importance beyond likes, shares and engagement for his brand.

The superstar defensive back plans to make his return to action in the coming weeks after tearing his ACL in practice just two weeks into the 2023 NFL regular season. Under a year later, he should be lacing his cleats and donning the famous star on his helmet in Oxnard, California, at Cowboys’ training camp.

Wednesday afternoon, Diggs released a series of videos to his Instagram page, performing different movements and workouts on a turf field. The Dallas cornerback also showed off his agility with a quick clip of him drilling through sand in a session on the beach.

The sights are encouraging to see after the heartbreaking injury last season when his star was on the rise. But with that in the past, the Cowboys can look forward to what looks like an exciting season for this secondary.

With Diggs sidelined, an additional burden fell on the secondary to uplift the Cowboys defense in the absence of a major contributor. That dilemma eventually paved the way for DaRon Bland’s star to shine.

Bland did just that, setting a franchise record with five pick-sixes while leading the league in interceptions, a feat Diggs has already familiarized himself with after his astonishing 11-interception season in 2021. The two have played together before, but there will be a different vibe heading into 2024.

On a tough week, NFL offenses usually plan for a one star “lockdown” cornerback who may carry a reputation for making game-changing plays and have a knack for finding the ball. The Cowboys possess two players who not only fit that role, but are two of the most notorious ball hawks in football.

Seeing those to work together on each side of the field will be an exciting venture for Cowboys fans, but beyond that, having a leader and playmaker like Diggs back after having a season robbed from him is an encouraging sign.

If those clips are any hint of what his return to game action looks like, it appears he will channel that same skill and dominance on the outside that takes this defense to another level.
